PP vs PET vs PS - how they behave under heat
Three plastics cover almost all rigid takeaway. The difference that matters is what happens when they get hot.

Are sugarcane and paper containers microwave safe?
This trips up a lot of buyers, so it is worth stating plainly: eco does not mean microwave.
- Sugarcane (bagasse) is oven-safe for dry heat and fine for hot food off the pass, but it is not for the microwave - moisture saturates and weakens the fibre wall under sustained microwave heat.
- Aluminium foil is oven-safe and never goes in a microwave.

Reheat-safe and freeze-safe are different questions. This is what survives the freezer, and what survives going straight from freezer to microwave.

Temper thin-wall PP (small sauce cups) for 2-3 minutes at room temperature before microwaving from frozen, so rapid thermal shock does not crack them.
Reheating safely: vent the lid
Even a microwave-safe container needs the lid managed. A sealed container traps steam and pressure builds fast, which pops lids and can balloon thin walls. Three rules keep it clean: vent or remove the lid before heating; if the lid snaps shut, open one corner first; and keep foil-printed or metallic lids out of the microwave entirely.
